Chemical Peel, explained plainly.
A chemical peel applies a medical-grade acid solution to the skin to remove the outer, damaged layers and reveal smoother, more even-toned skin underneath as the treated layer sheds over the following days.
Peels are offered at different depths — Linden offers superficial to light-medium peels, which target tone, texture, and mild sun damage without the extended downtime of a deeper medical peel.
The visible peeling is the treatment working as intended; it typically starts around day 2-3 and is complete by day 5-7.
Good candidates
- —Patients with sun damage, uneven tone, or dull texture
- —Anyone wanting a lower-downtime alternative to microneedling for texture and tone concerns
- —Patients comfortable with visible peeling for several days as part of the process
Not a good candidate
- —Patients with active cold sores, open wounds, or a recent sunburn in the treatment area
- —Anyone who cannot avoid direct sun exposure for the week following treatment
- —Patients seeking correction of deep wrinkles or volume loss, which peels don't address
